Earlier I asked about the work situation in Munich and Bavaria and got some useful feedback. I decided to check if anyone is aware about the situation in Berlin. From what I gained from the earlier discussion, Munich seems to be a popular location for English instructors and it may be more difficult than in other locations to get good paying work (because there are so many others there).
What about Berlin/Potsdam and some of the main cities in the East? I'm referring specifically to Dresden, Leipzig, Magdeburg, Halle, Chemnitz, Erfurt, Cottbus and any other cities of over let's say 100,000 people.
Also, does anyone have any knowledge about whether obtaining work permits (for non-EU citizens) for jobs within Eastern German states is any easier than in Western German states (or how hard it is in general)? Obviously the work situation isn't as good for the bulk of the local population, but since this is specifically for English teaching, I doubt that plays a large role.
Once again, any help is greatly appreciated
