St. Mary's University College, London, is launching a new MA programme in Applied Linguistics and ELT, based in Berlin,
starting in February 2010. I thought some of you might like to know about it.
Several dozen English language teachers in Germany have in the past participated in similar programmes we have run in
Moenchengladbach and Maastricht, so you may know something of what we do. Designed for professional language teachers, this 'semi-distance' Masters
programme is taught via six intensive seminar weekends in Berlin, and one in London, together with full distance support for private study in between. With
the dissertation, students can thereby gain this prestigious Masters in two years while continuing to work. The programme, which we believe to be unique,
combines the flexibility of a distance programme with the kind of intellectual engagement made possible by real contact.
