I'm not sure how useful my information will be because I don't know how similar my job is to other universities, but here goes. I work at the armed forces university, teaching NATO English, and I have eight 90-minute classes per week during the school year, which runs from October to June. In addition to those classes, I conduct oral tests four or five times per trimester (three hours each time). I also have to correct writing tests and proctor placement tests and reading and listening exams every once in a while. In the summer break I teach one or two two-week intensive English classes, correct a stack of writing exams, and run oral tests (again three hours each) a few times. This past summer I also helped put together one of the two textbooks we use. I get three weeks off at Christmas, a week at Easter, the mandatory six weeks each year, plus all the downtime when I'm not teaching. My colleagues are great, I get to practice my German a lot, I have total freedom in what and how I teach, and there are also plenty of opportunities for me to do lots of technical stuff (i.e. working on an interactive learning platform for the students). In short, it's my dream job. So yeah, I'd definitely recommend it.
