Here is some general information concerning LELTA.
At present we are a small close knit group that runs on a non membership basis. We ran our first successful event workshop on Saturday 11th Oct with 15 participants on the diverse themes of Web-quests, recording vocabulary, Financial English and generating discussions. The attendance was good and the discussions lively. It was hosted by interTreu Unternehmensberatung GmbH, and sponsored by trans-lingo.com. The workshops were run by the very experienced trainers Erik Eek, Teresa Lang, Ben Haymond and Nicola Seaton-Clark. All participants benefited greatly from the exchange of ideas and resources. In the near future will endeavor to modal ourselves similar to eltabb and other eltas based in Germany. This would mean an annual membership of 40 Euros (allowing free or concessionary entrance to selected events, or 15 euro per event for non-members). This would allow the running of guest speaker workshops and the organisation as a non-profit based e.V. If you have been in this area for awhile you know the demand for quality language training and business English is booming. So we are striking while the iron is hot and setting up a teacher´s organization that will be for Saxony and Saxon Anhalt. So if you are in the surrounding region this is for you. We would especially be interested in good contacts in the areas of Dresden and Halle to set up cross over marketing and events co-ordination. The official launch date will be in the first quarter of 2009. It will have a voluntary status and be there to provide training, workshops, events, networking, a jobs board and the possibility of writing articles for EFL/ESL publications. ---------------------------------------------------- Co-founder and coordinator Stewart Tunnicliff |
